I can't believe this!

Hello wizards, witches and muggles!

Summer is coming, and as you all know, that means one thing: VACATION TIME!! And what better way to spend your vacation than going to all of the magical places the world has to offer?!

However, if you are like me, organization and time planning is not your strongest suit, and with so many magical places out there, it becomes difficult to choose the best ones to visit and when. So, because of this, the folks at Mystic Quills decided to make an ultimate Harry Potter travel guide, that talks about more than 80 filming locations from Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts franchises and includes information on the best experiences, shops, restaurants, bars, and more that will make your magical trip even more amazing!

And if you think this is guide is just something cheap chatgpt created, then let me tell you that it was this guide that helped me through my trip to Edinburgh in March, by identifying all the important magical places and by helping me organize my days more thoroughly.

So, tell us what your dream magical destination by replying to this email, so we can help you achieve your dream!

Fanfic Faves 🌟

This week, our favorite fanfics are going to be centered around the Forced marriage trope with two of our favorite ships: DRAMIONE and DRARRY!

  • Bloody, slutty and pathetic by WhatMurdah - “In my humble opinion there’s only three things that men should be and that is bloody, slutty, and pathetic.” And, on a good day, Draco Malfoy can be all three. When war heroine Hermione Granger and Azkaban-tattooed war criminal Draco Malfoy are forced to wed as part of Shacklebolt’s controversial Reconciliation Act, they openly fight the match and each other—their public brawls breathlessly reported by the press.

Secretly, a deeply traumatized Draco delights in Hermione’s attention and pines for a real marriage with her—even as her forced proximity to the Black family magic irritates the cursed scar Bellatrix left on her arm, reminding her why she can never truly trust or forgive him. Then Hermione discovers that Draco’s blood will soothe the scar . . . and Draco is willing to trade his blood for her body.(With post-war blood purity politics, black market potioneers, Pansy Parkinson’s career advice, the Malfoys blackmailing Hermione’s Wizengamot opposition, BDE Neville Longbottom hunting Death Eaters, a slutty Theo Nott serving as Draco’s right-hand man, and Crookshanks loose in Malfoy Manor.)

    • Tropes: Post-war, Enemies to lovers, PTSD, Forced Marriage, Neville/Pansy, Angst, Possessive Draco, Dramione.

    • Available on AO3

  • That Old Black Magic by bixgirl1 - Centuries ago, marriage contracts were the norm — ready-made alliances between families, expected and complied with, without complaint. But norms have a way of changing, and when a long-dormant contract flares to life, Harry has to navigate an unexpected splintering of the path he'd thought would be easy after the war... with Draco Malfoy.

    • Tropes: Forced Marriage, Marriage Law, Friends to Lovers, House Magic, Falling in Love.

    • Available on AO3

The Weekly Pensieve 🤯

For this week’s pensive, we bring a fact that you may not know about that happened during the making of the Harry Potter movies:

David Thewlis (Remus Lupin) had no idea what his werewolf form would look like until after Prisoner of Azkaban was finished. When he finally saw it, he was shocked — and honestly a little disappointed, saying it looked "nothing like what I imagined — I thought I'd be bulkier or scarier!"*

The design team actually went for a skeletal, almost sickly look on purpose, to visually reflect Lupin’s inner struggle and how being a werewolf was a burden, not a power. Most fans expected a big, classic wolfman — but they went artsy and metaphorical instead.

Quiz of the week 🧐

Please reply to this email with your answer! And I will tell you if it is right or not.
